Happy Monday! All students will be reading, analyzing, and writing poetry over the next few weeks. Please look in planners for updates to homework mentioned in the weekly emails. Date to know: January 31--early release day Feb. 12--NAAPID AT TAPPAN Please join Tappan on Monday, February 12 as we take part in National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID). There will be a luncheon for parents from 11:30am-1:00pm and during this time parents will have a speaker, Tori Williams, an admissions officer from the University of Michigan. After the luncheon, we encourage parents to stop in their child’s classroom and see some of the wonderful instruction that takes place at Tappan Middle School. I can determine the figurative and connotative meaning of words/phrases based on how they are used in a text. I can analyze the impact of rhyme and repetition of sound on a particular part of the passage.
