Happy Monday! Welcome to your weekly ELA email. Please see below for information on what’s happening in your child’s classroom this week. Weather reminder: As the weather continues to get colder please remind your child that it is important to dress appropriately to stay warm. If a student decides to wear winter boots and there is not space in their locker I have a spot in my classroom where they can be stored for the day. Also, all winter jackets need to be stored in lockers and not worn to class. Please have your child wear a sweater, fleece, or sweatshirt if they get cold during the day. I can analyze how differences in the character's and the reader's points of view create suspense or humor.. Monday: Complete packet for Flowers for Algernon, due Tuesday Tuesday: Flowers for Algernon Quick Quiz and One Pager Wednesday: Finish One Pager for FFA Thursday: Begin analysis for Gift of the Magi, HW due Friday Friday: Finish Gift of the Magi, No HW over break (maybe read something new :) )

Please contact me directly if your child plans on staying to get help, work on assignments, or ask questions. Book Fair Update Our annual Scholastic Book Fair has started. All of my ELA classes visited last Friday. If a student would like a buy something they will be granted a pass to go during ELA this week. Thank you and have an amazing week. Welcome back December. As the weather continues to get colder please remind your child that it is important to dress appropriately to stay warm. If a student decides to wear winter boots and there is not space in their locker I have a spot in my classroom where they can be stored for the day. Please see below for your weekly English Language Arts email. Both the 6th and 8th grade students have completed their first large writing unit of the year and you will start to see writing scores entered into powerschool this week. Please remember that students are always welcome to resubmit an assignment to earn a higher score. I am available after school on Tuesdays until 4:30 for anyone wanted to get help, work on assignments, or ask questions. Our annual Scholastic Book Fair starts on December 10th. All ELA classes will visit on December 7th for a preview of the books available for purchase. On this day students will be able to purchase books. Thank you and have an amazing week.
