Good Afternoon Tappan Students, Parents, and Caretakers:
Happy New Year! Welcome back after what I hope was a restful and wonderful time off with family and friends. We are going to hit the ground running in both 6th and 8th grade ELA this week. 6th grade will begin researching the argued artform of graffiti, and start to complete their organizer. 8th grade will wrap up their short story unit with the young adult classic, Flowers for Algernon. We will work on understanding theme, and ask the question, is ignorance, bliss? Please check planners for daily assignments. Weather reminder: As the weather continues to get colder (and warmer and colder again) please remind your child that it is important to dress appropriately to stay warm. If a student decides to wear winter boots and there is no space in their locker I have a spot in my classroom where they can be stored for the day. Also, all winter jackets need to be stored in lockers and not worn to class. Please have your child wear a sweater, fleece, or sweatshirt if they get cold during the day. January Office Hour Update: Office Hours will change in the New Year. I will be available on Mondays after school until 4:00 p.m. If a student takes the late bus home they will be escorted down to Homework Club to continue working until 4:30. Thank you and have an amazing week. Cheers, Mrs. Lee Tappan Middle School [email protected] https://mrsleeaaps.weebly.com/ Dates to Know: January 6 Happy New Year 2020!!!
